What's New in 1999?
(Technical stuff, updates, breaking news and others)
-
December 15, 1999: Effective immediately,
SOTA has a new (and easier
to remember) website address:
http://www.sotainstruments.com.
Please make a note of it and change your BOOKMARKS so you can always find
us out there! Our E-Mail address has been changed to
info@sotainstruments.com.
Thanks!

November 18, 1999: Calculation error. When our Magnetic Pulser was
recently fitted with a new coil, we did not re-calculate the output gauss
correctly. Our MPG actually outputs over 6,000
Gauss. That's a nice plus!
Just posted: For Gauss calculations, and an in-depth discussion on the electrical
principles at play with an MPG, click

September 27, 1999: The new
Water O3zonator
Model# WOZ3 design is complete! After many months of intensive design,
the hard work and research has paid off. For a sneak preview of the
WOZ3, please click
HERE.
NOTE: We will not be ready
to ship the WOZ3 until
all the parts have arrived. We expect this to be around mid to end of
November, 1999. We will NOT be selling the older
Model# WOZ2, but we will offer an UPGRADE to
our latest WOZ3 model.
Please call our Customer Service Department at 1.800.224.0242 for
more details. We at
SOTA want to personally
thank all of you for your continued patience on this challenging project,
and for all you kind support and great ideas.

September 27, 1999: New International
Wall Adaptor. We are now offering an
International Wall Adaptor that will allow
ALL of our AC-DC units to be powered from ANY input voltage from 90 VAC
to 240 VAC, 50 Hz or 60 Hz and will output a constant 12 Volts
DC @ 1.5 Amps, 2.1mm Plug, Centre Positive. The Adapter's blades/prongs
will be standard North American, but should be able to plug into your
foreign receptacle, or a blade Adapter may be required. Please call our Customer
Service Department at 1.800.224.0242 for more details, or see our
Products Page/Replacement Parts by ckicking HERE.

August 5, 1999: Ozone Update: Our newest "smaller" tube tested
out at 125mg/Hr. This is excellent! I tested the Oxygen Reduction Potential
(ORP) in a 1 Litre container of distilled water at 12 degrees C and
got an astonishing 900mV. I expect to reach 1,000mV in ice-chilled water
at near 0 degrees C. This meets the minimum ORP level for water sterilization.
This is the goal I wanted to achieve. Water sterilization requires an ORP
of >800 mV. As for ozone bubbling in water with this tube, it takes only
1-2 minutes to fully saturate the water. The ozone is very strong (as compared
to the current 25mg/Hr WOZ2). The ozonated water
is also very good tasting! Our ozone consultant, Den Rasplika of
Ozone Services feels
that there is no reason to move to a much higher rated tube as the ozone
concentration in the water would become unpalatable. Note: The entire WOZ3
unit draws less than 1 Amp at 12VDC with the air pump running, making it
completely Y2K compliant. Production engineering starts soon. If all goes
smoothly, we expect to have the WOZ3 ready to ship in 10 weeks. Stay tuned!
-
June 9, 1999: Ozone Update: The new design of the voltage
stabilizer appears to be working extremely well. Our new quartz ozone tube
has been shipped, and should arrive by week's end. Next week in-depth testing
will be done on the new tube. If all goes well, production on the tube will
begin shortly after. Stay-tuned!
-
May 28, 1999: The new Silver Wire Holders have been delayed once again.
The reason is I have rejected the prototype due to unacceptable performance.
We at SOTA do our best to ensure you get the absolute highest quality product.
We really take this to heart. Quality takes time. We will not be taking any
new orders for the Silver Wire Holders until we get an acceptable prototype.
Call us if you already have a pending order and have any questions. Thank-you
for your continued patience and support!

May 18, 1999: Ozone Update: Still waiting for the new tube.
Also, more transformers are on their way for my testing. The transformer
design is the most difficult area of the project. I am trying to fully optimize
the TX for maximum efficiency. This is the tweaking stage. Voltage stabilizer
circuit is presenting it's own nasty challenges! But, stay tuned...we are
far ahead of the pack.

April 19, 1999: More Ozone News: Through much testing, the
new power supply appears to be fantastic! I will be sending out our newest
ozone tube (stainless steel and quartz) for testing this week if all goes
well. I was hoping to make a quartz-quartz tube for the ultimate in ozone
purity but the cost at this point would drive the total cost of the ozonator
into the ozone layer! Therefore, I will initially focus on a top quality
stainless-quartz design for now. Later as I have time on my hands, I will
put my full attention on designing a quartz-quartz tube and explore the
feasibility of such a design. This will allow all of you patient customers
to receive your next generation ozonator without further delay.

March 23, 1999: Our new Silver Wire
Holder has been delayed for a few more weeks. I rejected the first samples
we received due to some quality issues. I only want the best for our customers!
Quality takes time. We'd rather delay a product's release rather than have
one that is sent out quickly only to have problems later. We'll keep you
informed!

March 2, 1999: Ozone Update: Here's the latest news from the
ozone front...I'm working on a new power supply circuit design that utilizes
some of the most advanced topologies available. If all goes according to
plan, I should have a new prototype within a couple of weeks. Testing the
ozone output will commence immediately upon success of the new power supply
section. In addition, I have an oroginal idea of a new ozone chamber
design that also looks very promising. I hope to be able to test both sections
together within the next two weeks. This is starting to get real interesting...
